So, here I am in my condo in Tivoli, NY where I am preparing to go back to serve with Heart For Africa from July 20-30th. I am so thrilled to say that $4300 has been raised and additional donations are still coming!!!! This weekend, by request, I'm going to Reach Out Fellowship in Albany,NY to present the trip and sing special music. It seems the Lord is really blessing this trip financially! I think about the idea of moving there sometimes to be there to help the children full time, but then I think.....it is so hot and dry and I'm not sure my body would take the heat all the time. Summers in NY are always a struggle to get through. My body likes cold. Anyway, I'm getting things together for this next trip and am really looking forward to seeing the Maxwells and worshiping with the Litsemba Worship Team for all the children on Project Canaan. Speaking of Project Canaan, I can't wait to see the progress that has been made down there with the business plan!!!! I recommend that everyone check out what they are doing. www.heartforafrica.org
See ya soon Swaziland!

Project for Heart For Africa
Things are starting to change. In a good way. When I was first presented with going to Africa I thought, hmmm, okay....God did give me a confirming word about this type of thing. So, I went. It was a wonderful trip and at the very end we were all asked, "so how many of you are coming back next year??" Many hands went up. Mine was not one of them. I thought, well, this was a great trip, but I do not feel convicted to go back really. But I would really love to keep in touch with the church I worked with there and the pastor.
Before I left Swaziland I presented one of my songs to HFA that was written about children with Aids. A song I wrote 12 yrs ago that was totally forgotten about on my part.
After I got back to New York, I got an email from Janine Maxwell. Janine invited me along with many other musician/songwriters who are already affiliated with Heart For Africa to take a trip to Georgia (HFA headquaters) and have a writing weekend to create a song for HFA.
Of course, without hesitation I agreed to go! Why wouldn't I? This is my dream. To sing and write music.
Needless to say, it has led to me going again next year to be a part of the worship with these musicians. Again, my dream. To be a worship leader and to travel the world.
Dreams..........
I guess they're coming true!

Thoughts since I've been back
Well, I guess since I've returned from Swaziland I feel even more convicted about helping the less fortunate. Before this trip I have always reached out to people in need in small and sometimes big ways, but I saw for myself how much of the world there is out there. The world that is in need.
I just have a hard time meeting people on a daily basis who have so much and don't share it with others. I have a hard time with mansions, fancy cars, extravagant weddings, wasteful spending and so much more. These things make me angry, I am sorry to say, because there are so many who do not have just the basics for life.
Just sharing my heart.
